As many wait for an iWatch to finally get the go-ahead, other companies have jumped in and kicked-off the smartwatch revolution. The latest to throw their hat in the ring is Samsung as they’ve officially announced the release of the Galaxy Gear. Besides the standard and obvious features a smartwatch will sport – integration with some apps on your phone, music controls, and watch face options – the Galaxy Gear gives users a bit more. It’s got a built-in 1.9 megapixel camera for photos and video and it’s loaded with speakers and a mic so you can use it for calls all secret ops style. Other neat features include the ability to record short voice memos right into the watch and the ability to use the Galaxy Gear as a physical activity tracker. The Galaxy wrist candy will be out on September 25th and will come in six different colors.
