The idea of a portable, cable free music experience is great. Unfortunately, in practice it never quite works out like the marketing and packaging materials promise, and you’re left with shitty sound, another paperweight or you’re tethered to a device that’s just as inconvenient as you feared. That’s not the case with the Beacon Audio Blazar Bluetooth Speaker. The Blazar packs two 50mm drivers (one on each side), a 65mm bass radiator and a twelve hour rechargeable battery in a single piece of extruded aluminum. Good sound? Check. Battery life? Check. Bluetooth? Check. It doesn’t stop there. Two Blazars can also be wirelessly paired together for true stereo sound. It also works with NFC, so you can pair it simply by touching your device to the top of the Blazar. If that’s not enough, Beacon also paired up with some popular musicians for limited edition collabs available only through Kickstarter.
