For us, motorcycles have always been about more than doing 150mph down an open road. That’s definitely part of it, but there’s also a lot to be said about the sense of freedom and connection with the road you get when you’re on a lighter bike or a cafe racer that probably can’t push the speedo past 70mph. Janus Motorcycles gets that, which is why they’ve created the Halcyon 50 and Halcyon 50 Basic bikes. Starting at around $4k depending which model you want, the simple but stylish bikes combine a 49.9cc, 2-stroke engine with a six speed gearbox and a whole lot of cool design. The ponies max at around 10hp and the speed tops out at 55mph. It’s not the fastest option in the garage, but it’s estimated to get 60+ mpg and looks like it will be a helluva lot of fun to ride.
