Kobold Himalaya Everest Edition

$17,000 is a lot of money to spend on a watch that doesn’t bear one of the more iconic names in the industry. But, and bear with us here, what if the watch didn’t need to have a name at all because it was special enough without it? We’re just going to cut to the chase. Kobold is a watch company you’ve probably never heard of before right now, but one that just did something pretty remarkable. This watch is called the Everest Edition for good reason–the face is made of an actual piece of rock collected from the summit of Mount Everest. At this point, the movement (Swiss automatic-winding), case metal (stainless) and band (supple leather) are pretty much irrelevant in the face of a piece of Everest rock. And yeah, it’s pricey, but that mountain doesn’t climb itself.
