A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away, Victorinox (otherwise known as the brand Swiss Army) released their first watch, The Original. Flash forward to today and the Original is back—in a bigger way. Updated to a 40mm case diameter, the face of the watch isn’t the only thing that got a much needed age appropriate lift. The existing watch strap that was only really appropriate for a kid has been replaced with a sleek nylon NATO strap. The hands got bigger which makes it much easier to catch the time with only a quick glance. The synthetic case has been replaced with tried and true stainless steel. It also got the Victorinox equivalent of the M / AMG in the style department because now it’s blacked out. The original characters remain mostly the same (hardened mineral glass, Swiss quartz movement and luminous hands), but this sequel is one that’s easily better than the original.
