The only thing fixed about our fixies is their single gear. Fixed components? Yeah, right. We’re upgrading those every six months. Wheels and tires? Changed every time there’s some spare change in the rainy day fund. And then there’s the paint job. We tried painting it matte black once (we even disassembled it and hung it from wire like we see the guys doing on Discovery Channel), but the results were less than stellar. If matte black out of a spray can wasn’t possible, there’s no way we would be able to paint something seriously excellent like wood grain. But that’s ok because Rob Pollock isn’t similarly afflicted. For over 40 years he’s been perfecting the art of faux woodgraining, and now he wants to use that considerable skill to woodgrain your bike frame. Ship him your frame and after his magical touch it’ll be better than new.
