2010 was a big year in pop culture. There were dreams within dreams (within dreams), people from New Jersey, crazy pop stars wearing meat, Kanye released another tiger blood album, Ryan Reynolds was a dumbass and Antoine Dodson taught everyone to hide yo’ kids, hide yo’ wife. Oh yeah, and there were zombies. The Walking Dead is what happened when director Frank Darabont (Shawshank Redemption) hooked up with producer Gale Anne Hurd (Terminator / Aliens) and decided to make a television drama about the end of the world – with zombies. Since it was on AMC, there’s the requisite epic storytelling, tension and – of course – violence. It was, in our opinion, the greatest thing on television in 2010 (we’re not just saying that because we watch porn on the computer now). Throwing zombies into an story immediately makes it better, but Walking Dead was just as much epic story as it was zombie mayhem. Now it’s on DVD.
