Kingston Custom “Good Ghost” BMW R100 RS

There are custom motorcycles worthy of praise, and then there are those few that are worthy of museum display. The Good Ghost from Kingston Custom falls into the latter category with its art deco style and blue and gold paint job that are utterly captivating. The final member of the ‘Phantom’ trilogy of bikes by Kingston is based a 1980 BMW R100 RS but looks nothing like the original. The body is crafted with hand-formed aluminum that drapes over the entire bike. Almost everything is housed within the elongated fairing, which is punctuated by classic BMW automotive kidney grilles, this time lengthened just like the classic 1936 BMW 328 Roadster’s. Virtually the only things that protrude are the handlebars, portions of the engine, and the long exhaust pipes. The Good Ghost is capped off by a custom leather saddle that’s unified with the instrumentation surround, as well as two compartments behind the number plates that house a tool kit and vintage dining ware for added class. The bike is currently displayed at the Hass Moto Museum and Sculpture Gallery in Dallas.
