Pentax is most well known for their cameras, but the company actually got their start about a century ago making spectacle lenses (that they still make to this day). That expertise and innovation in lenses led to cameras, but also to sport optics like binoculars and scopes. Case in point–the Pentax 4X20 VD WP 3-in-1 Binoculars you see here. In binocular mode, you get conventional 4x magnifiers with a close focus distance of 5 feet, 10° field of view and 5mm exit pupil, which makes for some impressive views. That’s only the beginning because these binoculars can be split in half to create separate monoculars with an incredible 20″ close focus distance. But wait, there’s more. You can then combine those monoculars together to create a powerful 16x spotting scope. The setup is also sealed to an IPX7-rating to make it resistant to the elements and equipped with exterior armor and a slip-resistant grip. The Pentax 4X20 VD WP 3-in-1 Binoculars are slated for release in early September.
