A handful of years ago, Oru Kayak made big waves when they invented the world’s first origami folding kayak. It was small enough to not require dedicated storage or garage space. It was portable enough that one person could easily bring it anywhere including on an airplane. It was easy enough to put together and use that anyone could do it. Oru Kayak is back on Kickstarter with Inlet, their most revolutionary kayak yet. Pushing the key attributes of all their kayaks to the limit–portability, weight and foldability–required developing a completely new fold pattern that allowed their custom OruPlast material to nest and fit together perfectly so it eliminated wasted space. The end result? Inlet weighs only 20lbs, folds into suitcase size (19″ x 42″) and can be transformed from box to boat in a few short steps and less than five minutes. Spontaneous water adventures here we come.
