We love Star Wars as much as the next guy. But there comes a certain point in your life when you need to start trimming back on the movie memorabilia and maybe limit yourself to a LEGO Death Star instead of a recreation of the Mos Eisley Cantina. Renowned furniture designer Kenneth Cobonpue created a new collection of Star Wars-inspired pieces, and The Force is strong with all of them. Disney reached out to the artist for a collaboration in which he would get pick of the movies and brands. He chose Star Wars. As he told the Phillipine Star, “At first, I said, you don’t need me for this because I don’t make replicas of machines and Star Wars fans will only buy something if there’s the face of Darth Vader on it—I don’t do that. They said, ‘No, no, no. We want you to interpret through the lens of a Filipino designer.'” The end result? A chair that looks like a Tie Fighter. The Sidious Easy Armchair with the visage of the Sith Lord. A hanging lamp with lights formed by lightsabers. A Chewbacca rocking stool. Each piece blends movie magic with Cobonpue’s signature style in a way that’s whimsical and high class.
