The 90th Academy Awards were last night and a slew of deserving movies took home little golden men. One award they don’t give out, however, is Best Poster, which, honestly, is a good thing, as most movie posters follow a predictable formula and end up a lot like the posters that came before them. Netherlands-based digital artist Chungkong took those nominees and made posters also worthy of awards. Each minimal poster takes an element from the movie it’s depicting and keeps things simple. From the simple needle and thread from Phantom Thread to the three cascading billboards for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Chungkong nailed it each time. Check out some here and then stop by his site for more great movie posters.
