For almost fifty years, Nikken Cutlery has been making been making some of the best scissors, shears and general purpose tools on the market. Now, they’re planting their flag deeper in the world of paper products with a line of letter openers inspired by Japanese swords. After successfully crushing a similar funding goal for a project like this on a Japanese crowdsourcing site, the team is bringing their unique letter openers to the U.S. with a campaign on Indiegogo. Each one of the Japanese katana-style letter openers is made by skilled craftsmen with the utmost care and attention to detail. Three different famous and beloved swords from Japanese history have been recreated in exacting, miniature detail so you have an authentic Japanese knife to open your letters. In other words, opening your mail is going to be something you look forward to instead of a chore.
