It’s been a long time since we’ve play with Logical Blocks, those foam shapes that came in a handful of solid colors. For a dose of nostalgia, artist Katrien Vanderlinden used the learning toys as inspiration for her latest piece, a basketball court in Aalst, Belgium. Like Pigalle and other artists before, Vanderlinden took the traditional basketball court and made it a visual feast for the eyes, bringing color to an urban area in need of a face lift. Best viewed from above, the court was completed in two weeks thanks to a small team of volunteers. If you hurry over you can drain some threes from the pink square or the yellow triangle.
