Before you start salivating about the first real Apple Watch competitor for Android devices, Samsung’s recently unveiled Gear S2 smartwatches (there are two) still don’t have a price tag or release date attached. That said, the regular and “Classic” versions both look like the standard, round-faced watch you’re probably wearing on your wrist right now, but they feature a 1.2″ diameter face with 360×360 resolution, a dual core 1.2Ghz processor, 4 GB memory, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity. The regular edition is going to come with a rubberized band in dark gray or silver, but the “Classic” sits on a black leather band and matching case. While we don’t know anything about compatibility with specific phones yet either, it does appear that the “Classic” edition is on a 20mm standard lug, so changing the strap should be easy.
