When anyone asks the question, “who lives in a pineapple under the sea?” the response is immediate and loud. Everyone’s favorite (and probably only) anthropomorphic sponge, the one and only SpongeBob Squarepants, is celebrating his 20th Anniversary this year, and the product train of collaborations is rolling full speed ahead. The latest piece comes from iconic watch brand Unimatic–you’ll know them from the Unimatic Space Program watch they did with NASA–and it’s one heck of a watch. The case and dial is a triple black combination of matte, Super-LumiNova markers overlaid with an anthracite SpongeBob that makes the watch fun and amusing without being so over the top and cartoony that you can’t wear it everyday. It comes on a contrasting sponge yellow nylon strap, but also includes a black option if you want to go totally under the radar. The watch is limited to just 50 pieces and will be released at 2pm CET on October 28th with a sticker price of $721.
