Detroit Watch Company Is Assembling Watches In Michigan

When it comes to watches, it’s all about provenance. Where was it built? What was it built out of? Who built it? Why? The Detroit Watch Company was started by a husband and wife team with over sixty years of years design experience. Their dream was to create high quality timepieces that celebrate the history of Detroit, and the Detroit Watch Company is the end result. The Launch Edition Collection contains two different timepieces, each limited to a production run of 50 numbered pieces and built around polished 44mm cases. The 1701 Series pays homage to the early beginnings of modern Detroit and features an automatic, self-winding 26 jewel Miyota Caliber 9132 movement with date calendar and 40 hour power reserve. The fact that it’s all decked out in black and silver makes it the perfect formal watch. The Pride of Detroit is based on Edward F. Schlee’s Stinson-Detroiter monoplane of the same name and is designed as a classic pilot watch. the automatic, self-winding 21 jewel Miyota Caliber 821A movement is housed in a polished silver case and mounted on a brown calfskin leather band.
