The watch brand Defakto has always impressed us with the clean lines, attention to detail and quality construction you’ll find in all of their timepieces. They make watches–like the previously covered Akkord
and this new Transit Standard–that are built with all the tenets of a great German sports car. The Transit Standard combines all of the features we’ve come to know, love and expect from the brand, but this time around it’s all part of a more traditional style. In-house, 3-piece stainless case with a brushed finish. Swiss-made ETA 2824-2 automatic movement. German-made cowhide strap. Domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal that protects the matte black dial and the manually-shaped, rounded hands underneath. It’s a gorgeous watch that would look great paired with anything from jeans and a tee to full penguin suit. But if we’re being completely honest, it really shines in the dark. Literally. It was covered with two types of Superluminova in Switzerland so that the hours and minutes hands shine a bright blue and the second hand shines a contrasting red. It’s basically a high-end automobile clock you can wear on your wrist.
