Anicorn x NASA The Space Watch

Watchmaker Anicorn has once again teamed up with NASA for a limited-edition timepiece release: The Space Watch. Anicorn tapped legendary designer Richard Danne, the man responsible for NASA’s iconic “worm logotype,” to lend a hand in the making of The Space Watch. Available in two colorways, Space Black and Jet Silver, The Space Watch sports a minimalist design that showcases Danne’s simple, playful, yet sophisticated aesthetic. “This watch represents pure joy for me and is the culmination of a long, fruitful relationship with NASA,” shares Danne, who has been dubbed the Father of the NASA design program, in a press release. Danne’s worm logo for NASA had been from official use in 1992 but it was resurrected last year during the SpaceX Demo-2 mission. This watch collaboration celebrates the return of the famous typeface.

The Space Watch uses Miyota 9015 automatic movement and has a fully wound run time of 42 hours. The watch face is made of multiple geometric metal plates and the case is 316L stainless steel. The slick black leather strap features a black metal buckle with a black stainless steel bracelet and butterfly clasp.

Each edition of The Space Watch comes in retro packaging and includes Space a stainless steel bracelet, an embroidered “The Worm” patch, a numbered plate with Richard Danne’s autograph, and a special booklet. “This watch design is inspired by Space itself,” Danne explains. “Its beauty, its silence, its rotating planets. The project caps an extraordinary involvement with the NASA family, one like no other and very close to my heart.”
