If you were to pick the most famous bedroom in history, it probably wouldn’t be something from an episode of MTV Cribs. More likely than not, it’s the one that the crazy, troubled and brilliant artist Vincent van Gogh lived in and painted near the end of the 19th century. The three versions of The Bedroom are being brought together for the first time in North America for a showing at the Art Institute of Chicago, and there’s a near perfect recreation of Van Gogh’s bedroom currently up on Airbnb that you can stay in while you’re attending the show. Rates start at $10 per night “for no reason other than that I need to buy paint,” which sounds exactly like something Van Gogh would have said back in the day.
