If Richard Branson and Elon Musk have their way, you’ll soon be able to book trips to space for vacation. But what happens if you want to do more than just experience weightlessness and come back down to earth? If the startup Orion Span has any say in the matter, you’ll be able to stay on Aurora Station. Billed as the “World’s First Luxury Space Hotel,” Aurora Station will give you an authentic astronaut experience, complete with the thrill of zero gravity, incredible views of the planet, space farming and a functional holodeck. Aurora Station is expected to start receiving guests in 2022, but as Engadget reported, the facility that the station will be built at isn’t even a reality yet. If you’re interested in booking a stay of your own you should start saving now because it’s going to cost an estimated $9.5 million per person (that’s about $6,500 a day for the next four years) for the pleasure of living 200 miles above the Earth’s surface for twelve days.
