The Gapahuk Cabin is a ready-made social dwelling designed to fit perfectly into almost any scenic environment. Gapahuk is the result of a collaboration of two well-known international brands, Snøhetta and Rindalshytter. Snøhetta is the international architecture and design firm responsible for projects like the National September 11 Memorial Museum Pavilion and the Norwegian National Opera and Ballet. Rindalshytter is Norway’s first and leading producer of ready-made cabins rooted in tradition that are also a tribute to the surrounding landscape. Their collaboration led to the creation of Gapahuk, a cabin that is equal parts traditionally Norwegian, innovative and modern. Made primarily of wood and designed to focus on the larger common areas, the cabin utilizes natural light, open spaces and exterior protection from wind and sun on both ends to create a truly unique, social living experience fit for weekend jaunts or off-the-grid living. No word yet on pricing or availability, but we’re hoping they pop up as Airbnb rentals in the near future.
