A couple of months ago, Paramount got us in a tizzy with the release of a teaser trailer for Annihilation, a film from Alex Garland (Ex Machina) that’s based on the first book in the incredible Southern Reach Trilogy by author Jeff VanderMeer. Well, if we were excited then, we’re bouncing off the walls now. Here’s the first official trailer for the movie that hits theaters in February. Natalie Portman plays a biologist sent to investigate a strange swath of land that’s caused the disappearance of everyone who’s visited before her. What ensues is a battle to understand a completely unique “enemy.” We loved the book and with the people involved with the film, we suspect we’ll love it too.
