The success of Peloton probably means we’re in store for a whole slew of new pieces of home gym equipment that give you on demand classes and instructions. Why go to the class at the gym when the trainer and equipment can live in your home? The first of this bunch to catch our attention is Tonal, an intelligent fitness system that offers expert-led videos and personalized guidance. Tonal is composed of pulleys with adjustable arms, not unlike the ones you’d find at gyms the country over. Just like at the gym, you receive a collection of different handles to connect to the pulleys. Unlike the gym, however, you adjust the weight digitally, so you don’t have a stack of weights you need to shove a pin into when you need to adjust. Intelligent coaching walks you through hundreds of exercises and workouts, even using your goals to help transform your body. The only thing missing is the guy grunting at an excessive volume while he finishes his set.
