The Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset Records 3D Audio

Sennheiser has long been one of our favorite headphone and microphone manufacturers because they’re always innovating in the world of audio technology without making something that seems completely unfamiliar. The new Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset is a fantastic set of noise-cancelling earbuds that also happens to have a few clever tricks built-in that you won’t find in other options. Sennheiser took their acclaimed microphone technology and built omnidirectional microphones into the headset that are capable of making 3D audio recordings of the world around you so your videos have that immersive sound you’d otherwise only get if you were actually there. The Ambeo Smart Headset also includes what Sennheiser is calling “Situational Awareness,” which allows you to blend outside noise with whatever you’re listening to on your phone with a simple flip of the rocker switch on the controls. There’s even an app for full EQ configuration and customization to create a truly unique listening experience. The only real downside is that those of you on Android aren’t going to be able to use the device because they’re built with an Apple Lightning connection.
