An Exclusive Google Smart Lamp Only Available for Google Employees

An Exclusive Google Smart Lamp Only Available for Google Employees

Exclusivity is almost always a surefire way to create excitement. There’s a reason the Domino’s Pizza Rolexes are prized by collectors. Same with the Adidas-made Apple sneakers. Following that trend, Google has made a sleek, simple, stylish smart lamp — that is only available for employees.

9to5Google reported that the tech giant had built the ‘dLight,’ a desk lamp controlled by Google Assistant voice commands, that would “likely never be for sale outside of the company.” Employees located in the US can reserve the dLight for free though they are apparently on backorder. Google has made employee-only devices in the past but this smart lamp looks impressively consumer-ready. As such, we wouldn’t be surprised to see something similar on the market one day in the future. But, for now, we’ll just be jealous of Google’s employees.
