Matthew Modine has been involved in a lot of things you’ve probably seen: The Dark Knight Rises, Weeds and Any Given Sunday, but he will always be best known for his role as Private J.T. “Joker” Davis in Full Metal Jacket. During filming, Stanley Kubrick encouraged him to keep a journal with photos of everything that went on. Almost two decades later, he published it as a limited-edition book. Now, it’s re-imagined as an interactive, audiovisual experience just for the iPad. We love Angry Birds, Words With Friends and the Valet Mag app as much as anyone else, but stepping onto the set of one of our favorite movies of all time (not to mention going back in time like 25 years) might be the best use of the iPad yet.
