Canon Rebel SL1

Canon Rebel SL1

Toting around a DSLR can be cumbersome. They’re bulky, heavy, and don’t exactly fit in your pocket. Problem is, good ones take mighty fine pictures that you just won’t get with a point-and-shoot. Canon feels your pain. The Rebel SL1 is the smallest (4.6 x 3.6 x 2.1 inches) and lightest (14.1 ounce body) DSLR on the market. While it doesn’t quite fit the mold of something that can be stuffed in your jeans, it does give you solid performance in a more travel-friendly body. It’s got an 18.0 Megapixel APS-C sensor, a 9-point AF system, and ISO range of 100-12800 (expandable to H: 25600), and a 3″ touch screen LCD. If you’re looking for a beginner DSLR, you could do far worse.
