Bowers & Wilkins has been making high-end audio gear for quite some time, but they’re finally throwing their hat into the ring of portable bluetooth speakers. Two specially designed 50mm drivers designed and built to maximize the output. Twin bass radiators that deliver depth and impact on the low end. 18 solid hours of playback. Light signals and audio cues for playback functions. Bluetooth aptX for high-end, crystal clear streaming. Then there’s the overall design. While the honeycomb pattern you see around the edges certainly looks cool, it actually serves a purpose. Dubbed Micro Matrix, the interlocking cells that make up the honeycomb actually brace the cabinet to reduce vibration and distortion. Somehow, the engineers at Bowers & Wilkins managed to make all of this fit into a roughly 2lb package.
