Semper & Adhuc Makes Modern Watches with Vintage Movements

Semper & Adhuc, an upstart French brand named for the Latin “from always until now,” is taking a different approach to watchmaking by salvaging and restoring vintage watch Swiss movements from the past century and giving them a brand new lease on life with a modern case, dial and strap. The collection includes a total of six different watches—three different 316L stainless case styles (round, cushion, oval) with windowed backs and two dial options for each case style. Bracelets in a number of different colors come from a local leather craftsman in Bordeaux. If you want to see the kind of work that goes into making each one of their watches, we highly recommend you check out their Kickstarter video because it’s some serious process porn. The Semper & Adhuc project runs until October 6. If the project is fully funded, estimated delivery on the watches is in April 2019.
