Designing an original watch with excellent construction and materials for less than $500 is a huge challenge, but it seems Minus-8, out of San Fran has done just that with their new Diver 2020, an updated version of their most popular timepiece. The watch case and bracelet are both constructed from tough and lightweight titanium and come in two understated colors, black and grey with matte finishes. The 45mm round case is on the bigger side, but the coloring helps minimize the size. Underneath is a reliable Seiko automatic movement capped by a matte dial, broad lumed hands and markers, and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. Minus-8 also saw fit to improve the quality of the bracelet, the brightness of the lume, and the ratcheting of the uni-directional bezel. It’s also rated to 300 meters/1,000 ft. of depth so it’s not just eye candy.
