It’s not like the G-Shock GA2100 “CasiOak” series put the brand on the map. Casio’s G-Shock watches have been the near-indestructible darlings of the digital watch world for decades. But the CasiOak series hit all the right notes with its AP Royal Oak leaning without the Royal Oak prices. Now, Casio has seen fit to cover its CasiOak series with metal, adding a premium look with a still affordable price tag. The new line, GM2100, receives a forged stainless steel bezel that aims a rung higher than the resin versions but a rung lower than the full metal version. Underneath lies the tough Carbon Core Guard technology that protects the watch from shocks, and the GM2100s utilize a glass fiber reinforced resin case for serious robustness. The GM2100 series will have four different models ranging in materials and dial colors, and they’ll all cost the same $220 and provide 200 meters of water resistance, stopwatch, calendar, and alarm functions. Watch them fly off the shelves during pre-order, and they should ship out next month.
