10 Cars We Wanted To Steal From The 2014 New York Auto Show

10 Cars We Wanted To Steal From The 2014 New York Auto Show

To actually steal a car from the New York International Auto Show would take some Mission Impossible-style planning. Even if you could snag the keys to one of the rides, maneuver your way out of the Jacob Javits Center, and get the car on the streets past the hot dog vendors and roasted nuts guys, you’d still have to deal with outrunning the cops in Manhattan traffic. Basically, it’s not happening. Still, there were a bunch of vehicles on display that made us contemplate it for at least a split second. Here are 10 of them.

1. 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder

Boasting a price tag that starts close to a million dollars, the 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder is a great investment if you’re never planning on putting children through college or owning a home. If the hybrid’s sticker price doesn’t scare you off, you can reach speeds of over 200 mph while saving some money on gas. (Link)

2. Nissan Sport Sedan Concept

If this is what’s to become of the Maxima, consider us excited. The concept sedan is far more sexy than stuffy and reminds us that a sedan doesn’t have to be boring. (Link)

3. SRT Viper (Anodized Carbon Edition)

Even though any mention of the Viper immediately makes us think of a bright blue sports car with white racing stripes, this limited edition offers another sweet look. Limited to only 50 vehicles, it won’t be the easiest ride to get your hands on. (Link)

4. 50th Anniversary Ford Mustang

The Mustang sure looks sexy for 50. The iconic muscle car gets a celebratory makeover that is based off the new 2015 Mustang GT. It delivers more than 420 horsepower and is decked to the nines inside.

5. 2015 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG Coupe

You’ll draw a crowd when you have your voice guy (a.k.a. Jon Hamm) introduce your latest vehicle. Mercedes-Benz showed off the little 577 horsepower beast at this year’s show to rave reviews and to a huge crowd of people with one eye glued on the car and the other on Don Draper.

6. Toyota FV2 Concept

Walking home with the award for craziest vehicle, Toyota’s futuristic chariot drew plenty of curious looks. Besides looking like it belongs in some new world Tom Cruise flick, the little ride responds both physically and emotionally to the driver. (Link)

7. 2015 Corvette Z06

Let’s be honest, we’d gladly take any Corvette. The new Z06 convertible happens to just be the latest mighty fine rendition of the classic we’d like to hop in. (Link)

8. Lexus LFA Nurburgring Edition

Since the package’s inception in 2010, the Nurburgring LFA has been a combination of luxury and performance. Besides owning a car that goes 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, you’ll also get the perks of private parking and a 1-year pass onto the Nurburgring Nordschleife. (Link)

9. 2015 BMW M4 Convertible

The M4 produces 425 horsepower and sports a stylish 3-piece retractable hardtop to offer you an alternative to the standard M4 that was shown off in Detroit. Making its debut at the show along side the new X4 Sport Activity Coupe, the sharp new convertible was definitely one of the finest new rides at this year’s NYIAS. (Link)

10. Koenigsegg Agera R

This list wouldn’t be complete without at least one more insane car that we’ll probably never have the chance to push the pedal in. With a top speed of over 270 mph, the Koenigsegg Agera R is the only roadster Hypercar with a detachable hardtop. Yes, your hair could get a little messy. (Link)
