Former Formula 1 and Indycar driver Tarso Marques turned custom car and bike creator has crafted a motorcycle like no other. Upon first glance, it looks more like a steampunk time machine than a conventional two-wheeler. The TMC Dumont Motorcycle is fully functional despite its intergalactic looks that include huge 36-inch hubless wheels, custom metalwork, a 300-horsepower Rolls-Royce Continental aircraft engine, and just enough ground clearance to get over a few stacked sheets of paper. The rider practically straddles the back end of the huge engine, and the wheels float as if kept in place by willpower. Marques goal was creating disbelief from this seven-month build, and we’d say he’s more than achieved it. We’re just not sure if it’s meant to be ridden or hung in a modern art museum.
