The idea of strapping some batteries and motors to a skateboard to create a portable, four-wheeled electric transportation option is nothing new. Electric skateboards have been done before, but they’ve never been done like the NGV Nextboard you see here because this electric longboard tops out as almost 70 miles per hour. Yes, you read that correctly. Even without a steel body, roll cage or other protective gear, you can hit up to 68 mph on this super light carbon chassis powered by four in-wheel motors controlled by proprietary software. Many people describe this as the fastest electric longboard on the market, and the performance specs more than back up those claims. We’ve done speeds that high on motorcycles and in cars, but it’s a completely different story when you’re doing almost seventy miles per hour on a skateboard. The NGV Nextboard might not be built for ollies or kickflips, but it goes so fast you won’t care.
