Tesla Surprised Everyone By Announcing a Next-Gen Roadster

After teasing the brand’s new Semi Truck for weeks, Elon Musk took the stage last night to pull the tarp off the company’s Optimus Prime. But that wasn’t all Musk had in store. Meet the company’s next-generation Roadster, which Musk claims will be the fastest production car ever. Looking at the numbers, it’s hard to argue. Musk says that the Roadster will hit 60 from a standstill in an insane 1.9 seconds. It will hit 100 mph fast than most cars hit 60, as it can do it in just 4.2 seconds. Perhaps even more impressive than the ludicrous speed, however, is the range, as Musk says this next-gen Roadster will get 600 miles on a single charge, alleviating one of the more common complaints about electric vehicles, that you have to charge them too frequently. Unsurprisingly, the Roadster won’t be cheap, as the base model will run a cool $200k. When 2020 hits, we want to at least get a test drive.
