ONYX Motorbikes out of San Francisco is reviving the moped in a new, electric form that makes it even more fun and practical than the popular mopeds of the 70’s and 80’s that they’re based on. The two bike options use high torque, direct drive motors to deliver a 2-stroke like power-band feeling throughout the entire throttle range. For the CTY option, this means a top speed of 30mph and a maximum range of 25 miles. The RCR option can hit up to 60mph with a 75 mile maximum range. Both bikes can be charged using a standard wall out, but they can also be pedaled should you ever run out of juice. And because you’re going to love riding the bike so much, ONYX also developed the DRT upgrade kit with knobby tires, fenders, a rear trail rack and the other items you need to put your new bike through the paces on the trails or turn it into a zombie apocalypse survival bike.
