This Bike Light Alerts Drivers When You’re in Their Blind Spot

One of the worst aspects of riding your bike in the city is the constant fear you’re going to get hit by a car. A lot of these accidents happen when you’re in a driver’s blind spot, which is why the team at Beryl spent years building bike light technology to address that. The Laserlight Core is the latest iteration of this technology, and it projects a a green cyclist road sign onto the street 6m in front of your bike. In addition to making your presence known if you’re in the blind spot, it also alerts pedestrians and stopped cars. According to an independent study by Transport Research Lab, this projection makes you up to 32% more visible, which means the Laserlight Core more than lives up to the brand’s claim that it’s “designed and built to be the world’s safest bike light.” The waterproof light also includes a 400 lumen front light with Day Flash and tool-less, one-handed mounting. Estimated delivery for the Laserlight Core is in December of this year.
