As part of the Jaguar Land Rover “Reborn” program that most recently resurrected the 1978 Three-Door Range Rover Classic, Jaguar is reviving the Series 1 E-Type. Described by Enzo Ferrari as “The most beautiful car ever made,” the E-type was the obvious first choice for a vehicle to be “Reborn” from the Jaguar side of the company. Each of the 10 examples they’ll be creating will be built in the new state-of-the-art workshops at the Jaguar Land Rover Classic Works facility and will be sold directly to enthusiasts and collectors from Jaguar Classic. If you don’t want a traditional, numbers matching restoration of the Series 1 E-type performed by the skilled folks at Jaguar, there are also upgrade options available for extras ranging from the cooling system and a synchromesh transmission to three-piston brakes with larger pads. Each of the restorations will be as authentic as possible, and the offerings will be split between coupes and roadsters.
