We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again–the Honda Cub and Honda Super Cub are some of the most popular, widely produced and incredibly popular motor vehicles on the planet. Honda is expanding their line of incredibly popular and accessible motorbikes with the Honda CT125 Hunter Cub, a new version that plays off the strengths of its predecessors while simultaneously outfitting it for off-road operations. The chassis been modified. There is extra fuel capacity. The suspension has been upgraded. The exhaust has been mounted higher, the brakes have been modified to disc, it has an ABS system and, most importantly, the engine is an air-cooled, 4-stroke, OHC, 124cc single cylinder engine. In other words, the Hunter Cub shares a silhouette and similar performance with its predecessors while being a completely new ride with an upgraded, off-road profile that’s set to take the backcountry by storm when it gets released in Japan in June.
