Good news: The car of the future is here. Bad news: It costs a fortune. Just unveiled at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, the new BMW i8 is the sport/luxury/plug-in hybrid vehicle many with deep pockets have been waiting for. Boasting a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds and up to 94 mpg fuel efficiency the i8 is a combination of performance and economy (well, aside from the $135k base price tag). Inside you’ll find a 3D, high-res display on the dash that gives the driver all his relevant driving info and a focus on angling everything towards the guy operating the vehicle. The new i8 has scissor doors, an elongated wheelbase, and an Italian-esque sportscar silhouette. Start counting your pennies now cause we should see it stateside in the Spring.
