When it comes to vintage automobiles, you’re unlikely to find better than old school Italian sportscars. Case in point–any vintage Alfa Romeo, but particularly the 1979 Alfa Romeo Alfetta Gtv Turbodelta GR.4 you see here. The GTV Turbodelta was produced exclusively in 1979 and 1980–with only 400 total examples–under the supervision of the Auto-Delta team formed by former Alfa and Ferrari engineers Carlo Chiti and Lodovico Chizzola. Auto-Delta would ultimately become Autodelta SpA–Alfa Romeo’s competition / performance arm–which led to the creation of the iconic race vehicle you see here. This whip is a turbocharged, lifted rally version of the 2.0L Alfetta that puts down around 150hp and 170ft-lbs of torque thanks to the blown 2.0L inline-four. With only a couple hundred of these ever produced more than half a century ago, the remaining options for this piece of automotive history are scarce. Luckily for you, Italy’s Ruote da Sogno has one for sale right now if you can cough up the appropriately sized bag of money.
