As much as we miss fancy restaurants, bougie cocktails and everything else COVID has deprived us of, the thing we miss most is live music and the concerts we used to enjoy it. As you might imagine, all those independent music venues across the country you’ve grown to love are seriously hurting during this crisis, which is why the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) is doing everything they can to help make sure they reopen when it’s safe to go to shows again. That means streaming a YouTube supported music festival over the course of the weekend with plenty of renowned talent playing at the otherwise empty venues you’ve come to know and love. Macklemore and Neumous. G-Eazy at The Independent. Dillon Francis at the Teragram Ballroom. Rise Against at the Metro. Leon Bridges at the Troubadour. Miley Cyrus at the Whisky A Go-Go. Foo Fighters at the Troubadour. The Roots at the Apollo Theater. Major Lazer at Gramps. Dave Matthews at the Jefferson Theater. Nathaniel Rateliff and The Lumineers at the Boulder Theater. The festival takes place this evening Friday, October 16th through Sunday, October 18th, is produced by YouTube Music and the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and the entire event is hosted by Reggie Watts.
