VTR Customs Spitfire

Looking more like a vintage, experimental motorcycle you might find roped off at a museum, the VTR Customs Spitfire is a bona fide drag racer inspired by the legendary WWII British Supermarine single-seater fighter plane. Its racing pedigree is impressive, having garnered more than half a dozen podium finishes. Lest you think it was built using the latest techniques, VTR Customs used hand-drawn sketches, an English wheel for metal forming, and classic riveted construction techniques to bring the beauty together. The aluminum bodywork, huge intakes, slim tank pad, and abbreviated amber windscreen give it a look like no other bike around. It even has a Nitrous Oxide boost and a flamethrower that activates via a toggle switch. Perhaps the most modern touch is the TW Steel wristwatch housed in the tank thanks to the project’s sponsors TW Steel and BMW (who provided the 2017 R1200 R that acts as the base bike). Underneath it all is a monstrous 170-hp boosted boxer twin engine that propels the Spitfire with authority. It’s now up for sale on Classic Driver Switzerland for a price that seems more than reasonable for one of the most renowned custom builds ever created.
