We love bicycles. We also love the idea of strapping battery packs and motors to bicycles to get them performing closer to a motorcycle without us having to do all the work. But the current e-Bike options all center around a few different uninspired designs and have price tags that will make you just want to buy a fully-fledged motorcycle. That changes with the Vinci e-Bike from mechanical engineer and industrial designer Enzo Prathamesh. At first glance, it looks like the top frame tube design that’s popular among the e-Bike set. But Vinci’s version is a step-down design with a proper seat, attached rear shock absorber, and front fork suspension so you get the look of riding a rocket without, well, feeling like you’re riding a rocket. Pair that with innovations like a 750W hub-mounted motor good for up to 50 miles of range with pedal assist, a top speed of 35mph in Sport Mode, seven-speed Shimano gearset, pedal-assist, LCD display, front and rear lights, alloy wheels, and hydraulic disc brakes–along with a price tag that’s just over a thousand bucks–and you can see why this is our favorite e-Bike of 2021. You can back Vinci on Kickstarter right now to get your bike for the May 2022 delivery.
