The Tesla Truckla

The Tesla Truckla

How do you make a Tesla Model 3 even better? Frankenstein it into a pickup truck before Elon Musk gets a chance to build his version of a hay-hauler. That’s exactly what metal craftswoman, robotics nut, and YouTuber Simone Giertz did to her otherwise pristine Red Metallic Model 3. Clearly impatient for the production Tesla pickup, she took things into her own hands and embarked on a monumental project with her DIY buddies. With plans drawn up and probably no idea how much work it would be, Giertz took to it by slicing off the back of the 3’s cabin to make way for a truck bed. Though the chassis was left intact, the rest of the back disappeared like Elon Musk’s Twitter account and in its place, a functioning bed was installed and a structural cargo rack was welded to the frame of the 3. Despite the fact that she can no longer tote friends safely and most of the pillar and roof lining is gone, she has herself the world’s first Tesla pickup truck. Watch their fake TV commercial for pure enjoyment.
