There are few movie props as iconic as the Tim Burton Batmobile. Made for Burton’s live-action films Batman (1989) and Batman Returns (1992), this iteration of the Caped Crusader’s car is just the right amount of “over-the-top.” The sleek gloss-black fiberglass body, bat fins on the back, and jet engine turbine right down the middle. It perfectly suited the level of gothic camp in Burton’s Batman films. Now, this eye-catching ride is available to purchase via Classic Auto Mall. The car was imagined by illustrator Julian Caldow and built by John Evans’ SFX team at Pinewood Studios in England as the original movie prop car. Impressively, the vehicle has been equipped with an electric engine and can achieve a top speed of about 25-30 mph. To really complete the Batman experience, the Batmobile comes equipped with a working flame thrower and side-mounted hook launchers. The 1989 Batmobile can be yours for a cool $1.5 million.
