From high brow comics to a stalker-like obsession with the comma, The New Yorker is known for a lot of things. But there’s one thing the iconic mag is known for more than anything else: incredible covers. New Yorker covers are frame-worthy, and getting tabbed for one is a huge honor for a designer. Of course, for every cover, there are a slew of submissions that didn’t make the cut. The Not Yorker, a new site from a trio of illustrators from North America, celebrates this near misses. Peter Ryan, Chris Gash, and Jack Dylan are the minds behind the site, all of whom have been submitting work to the famed magazine for some time. You can browse the site and check out some of the incredible work that just missed the cut.
