Internet artist and digital creative Tom Galle describes himself as working “around the themes of Internet Cultures, Meme Art, Technology and new media.” All that means is that sometimes he’s working on something controversial like Snapchats Nudes Calendars, sometimes he’s using a Toyota iQ to make a font, sometimes he’s making Airbnbs just for Netflix and Chill, and sometimes he’s taking iconic brand logos and turning them into functional weapons like he did with his latest series Corpgear©. The current collection only includes three pieces, but they’re each going to make you think a little bit differently about the most popular social network, the golden arches and the swoosh. Galle turned the Facebook logo into a large blue crowbar. The McDonald’s golden arches became a set of brass knuckles. The Nike swoosh evolved into a dangerous looking knife. We can’t wait to see what he adds to the collection next. Mercedes Benz throwing star? 7-11 boomerang? We’ll have to wait and see.
