About a year ago, fed up with traffic, Elon Musk tweeted about solving roadway congestion via a series of tunnels and tracks that shuttle your car past the backup. The Boring Company, as the project was dubbed, seemed too insane to be taken seriously. Then we remembered the man piloting it and the entire thing seemed a lot more plausible. Now, 10 months later, Musk has revealed the first shot of one of the tunnels on his Instagram. No further info was posted, only a caption that reads, “The Boring Company tunnel under LA.” We still have a hard time imaging this will ever be more than a grand idea, but the thought of bypassing the 405 on a 150 mph rocket sled sure does sound appealing.
